Battlefield 6 Gamers Agree: Missions Are Overly Demanding

The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, an increasing amount of players are voicing discontent with several of the title's toughest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.

Players have started resorting to tailored sessions created through the custom game tool to finish these tasks, highlighting just how arduous these challenges have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Tasks

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. The game includes four classes of assignments, but where most only reward cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the only way of getting twelve from the forty-one main guns found within the game.

Some of these gated guns may soon earn a place on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash via Reddit

Within Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. An individual player emphasized one of the most egregious examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This challenge is so atrocious and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer positive effects in fights as it used to in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.

Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which is not usually a position you want to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Extremely Difficult Mission

A different forum member brought attention to another ridiculously tough challenge, within the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills over 200m with marksman guns

This is challenging enough by itself, but there's another important point to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at those extended distances.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and perhaps Operation Firestorm if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.

The Alternative Method

There is a workaround though: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This allows you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.

Yet, if tackling the tasks in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an atypical style that offers no advantage to anyone, who can fault a player for completing them in a personal session so allies are not impaired?

Potential Changes

It won't come as a surprise if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because if they're not, some players simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.

Currently, the player base continues to express their views on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a fairer overall gameplay in future updates.
