Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Car Fans Are Hoping For
It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was teaming up with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole destination where enthusiasts can experience the universe of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to Rocket League, bringing along an vehicle customization option that will also be compatible in Fortnite. That said, whether players will actually want to equip it is a different matter, as there's only one Simpsons car the community is eager to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.
What Fans Really Want
Although most gamers would absolutely enjoy to face off behind the wheel of The Homer—the famously flawed car the patriarch designed himself in the 1991 installment "the one where he meets Herb"—that's not what players are receiving. We aren't even receiving the Canyonero, the heavy-duty vehicle featured in season 10. Rather, players will obtain the Simpsons' standard beat-up sedan, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Though this specific vehicle has seen better days, it remains an iconic symbol of the series. For those who analyze the game's vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the sole customization item from the show arriving in the game. The event will also include a set of challenges to earn more rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. According to a official announcement, the challenges will task participants to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and drive a distance worthy of acquiring the perfect donuts!"
While the full lineup of earnable items isn't yet disclosed, here is what has been confirmed so far:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
Based on promotional images is any indication, it seems fans will also get wheels featuring a TV displaying the show's opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and rocket boosts inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
This event lines up with the major The Simpsons takeover of Fortnite, which includes a completely new map of Springfield, in addition to a month-long Battle Pass. This special Rocket League and Simpsons celebration begins on November 1st and ends on Nov. 17.
